Julia Grandperret porte une attention particulière à ses sujets – souvent féminins – et l’histoire transmise par un regard, un mouvement, un corps. Ses couleurs acidulées et ses poses maniéristes composent une esthétique soft-pop marquée par la culture mainstream des années 2000 et les vidéoclips qui ont bercé son adolescence.
En parallèle à des études de droit et un deuxième cursus à l’École de l’Image Gobelins, Julia Grandperret commence à photographier et réaliser des clips en collaboration avec des artistes, tels que Juniore, Laura Cahen, puis plus tard avec Mauvais Oeil et Shiv. Julia Grandperret pays particular attention to her subjects – often female – and the story conveyed by a look, a movement, a body. Her acid colors and mannered poses create a soft-pop aesthetic influenced by the mainstream culture of the 2000s and the music videos that lulled her adolescence.
